* ABSTRACT | |||||||
We discuss the construction of assisted inflation with many scalar fields from large volume compactification in string theory. It is possible to use axions or Kahler moduli as inflatons in this setup. For axion inflation, it is crucial to make the axion decay constants close to the Planck scale and so we can have the axion fields properly from vanishing two cycles in the compact geometry of type IIB theory. For Kahler moduli inflation, we show that it is difficult to realize assisted inflation around the minima of the potential as in axion inflation but possible by adjusting the shape of the potential and the initial conditions of Kahler moduli. |
