* ABSTRACT
Notions of topology and homotopy theories are making ever-increasing inroads into the mainstream condensed matter theory community, and yet its accessibility to the beginners and the laymen remain as narrow as ever. For the younger generation of would-be condensed matter theorists not having a working grasp of the topology and homotopy is probably not an option any longer. Besides, there is an intrinsic beauty to the theory and not a small amount of practical utility from learning a little bit about it. Meanwhile university courses on these topics are not likely to come along any time soon due to the rather limited pool of student audiences in a single, given institution.
