Title: Andreev bound states crossing in a quantum dot coupled to normal and superconducting contacts Abstract: A normal metal-quantum dot-BCS superconductor hybrid system is investigated. This setup has been extensively studied since it can probe a quantum phase transition between doublet and singlet ground states which happens when the Kondo effect and BCS superconductivity coexist. Recently, the setup has also received renowned interests due to its intimate connection with the Majorana physics. Using the Hubbard-I solution which is appropriate to describe the Coulomb blockade phenomenon and numerical renormalization group method, we examine the subgap excitations. The existing theoretical study using the unrestricted Hartree-Fock approach is criticised. We then compare our theoretical results with experimental data and find good agreements with them. |
