How to get to APCTP
How to come from Incheon Airport to your hotel [1] After collecting all your baggages, please pass through the exit door to be in the arrival hall of the airport building. (no one will be awaiting for you, sorry.) [2] Get out of the building through any gate. Do not cross the road. [3] Look for the bus ticket box. The buses are comfortable and easy. I would not recommend taxi for you unless you are rich enough to take one which will cost about USD 150.- [4] At the bus ticket box, you should say to the lady in the box either “Ibis Ambassador Myeong-dong”, “Myeong-dong”, or “Myeong-dong Ibis.” (The communication should be clearly processed.) [5] She will say the price (KRW 15,000.-), and the bus number (No. 6001), and the location of the bus stop, and will give you the ticket in return of the money you pay in Korean Won. Please check the bus number, No. 6001, printed in the ticket. [6] Go to the bus stop, and take on the bus No. 6001 when it arrives. (I have said that you need not cross the road.) [7] It will take about an hour for the bus to come in the downtown of Seoul. There will be a voice announcement for every bus stop. The bus will stop some meters away from the entrance of the hotel, Ibis Ambassador Myeong-dong. [8] The entrance of the hotel is located at the corner of the building, which also accommodates a bank. The reception area is rather compact. Please check in. [9] After taking a relax, you may come out to explore the vicinity of the hotel. It is the most expensive and busiest district of Seoul. But cosy and attractive as well. Find the Lotte Department Store across the street. To the left you will be introduced to Myeong-dong. There are a number of excellent but cheap restaurants in the district. How to come from your hotel to the workshop venue [1] From the hotel, it will take about 30-35 minutes door to door to the venue, by subway. [2] From the hotel, please turn right and walk about 200 meters. You will see the Lotte Department Store on your left across the street. [3] You will find the pole for entrance to the subway station. (see the picture, where the red arrow shows the pole.) [4] Go down under. [5] You are now in the subway station, Euljiro 1-ga, or Euljiro Ipku. The number of the station is 202. The number explains that it is the second station on Line 2. You have to take Line 2 in order to go to Konkuk University. Since the number of Konkuk University is 212, you would certainly expect that the Konkuk University station is the twelfth station on the same line, Line 2. [6] Prepare KRW 2,000.- and find the vending machine for subway ticket. This machine is for those who does not have a subway pass. (You will see that almost all of the citizens will use a certain kind of pass or card.) [7] In front of the vending machine, you press buttons as the machine explains, and insert mony as the machine asks, and take the ticket and the change. (see the picture of the ticket) [8] Now, you have to choose the platform. One direction goes to Konkuk University and the other direction opposite. Naturally, you should choose the direction for Konkuk University. [9] Once on board the subway train, it will take just 16 minutes to arrive at the Konkuk University station. The Konkuk University station is not underground but elevated above the ground. [10] Get out of the station through the Exit No. 2. Keep the ticket. Do not worry about the refund. My students will help you when you come in to the venue. [11] On the ground again, you have to cross the road to get into the campus and go staight forward, passing the University hospital. (see the picture of the cross, where you can see the elevated subway line on the right and the University hospital on the left.) [12] Now, you can arrive within 5 minutes to the venue. The green area in the map is the campus of Konkuk University (see the map) Webpage Link Remark Remark
