Applications are invited for one or more postdoctoral research fellow positions in theoretical physics at the Asia-Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP), Pohang, South Korea.
These positions will be part of the junior research group "String theory and QCD" lead by Dr Matti Jarvinen.
APCTP (www.apctp.org), founded in 1996, is an international organization dedicated to excellence in research and the training of young scientists in the Asia-Pacific region. APCTP offers a unique research environment incorporating a large diversity of fields (cosmology, particle physics, statistical physics, string theory). Successful applicants will have a chance to interact with various groups and broaden their personal research program.
Successful applicants will be expected to carry out research in theoretical high energy physics. Prior experience in QCD, gauge/gravity
duality, neutron star physics, and/or numerical methods is an advantage. A PhD in theoretical physics or a closely related field is required.
Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, list of publications, and a short research statement by email to matti.jarvinen@apctp.org, and arrange three letters of recommendation to be sent to the same address. The initial appointment is for one year, but can be extended up to two additional years, depending on research performance and funding. These positions remain open until filled, and the review of applications will begin after 31st of December 2020. The preferred starting date will be the 1st of September 2021.
