    Overview

The Quantum Materials Symposium 2015 (QMS15) is organized by the SCES (strongly correlated electron systems) community in Korea. QMS15 is also held in conjunction with the 1st IBS CCES-CIFAR workshop on SCES. It is sponsored by the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP), Korea Institute for Advanced Study(KIAS), and the IBS (Institute for Basic Science), Center for Correlated Electron Systems (CCES). We bring world leaders on several fronts of strongly correlated electron physics to QMS15.In keeping with the tradition of hosting the winter workshops at one of the ski resorts, the meeting takes place at Muju resort (http://www.mdysresort.com/).During the five days of the workshop, we cover such topics as quantum magnetism, exotic metals, emergent phenomena, and superconductivity.

    Topics

Winter workshop 2015 on Quantum Materials Symposium will be held between Feb. 8 - Feb 13, 2015. Topics that will be covered in the workshop are high temperature superconductivity (cuprates and pnictides), multiferroic materials, strongly correlated materials and topological insulators. The focus will be on novel quantum phenomena that originate from correlations among charge, spin and lattice.
