* ABSTRACT
An elementary introduction into the subject will be given. The new developments on which I want to focus do concern modeling of the high-density QCD phase in the vicinity of the deconfinement transition, where color superconductivity might occur. Consequences of such a phase transition for explosive phenomena (GRB, Supernovae, Hypernovae) have recently been discussed, e.g. by Sannino, Ouyed, Hsu, Hong and others. We have performed detailed calculations of cooling, magnetic fields and also of structure and stability of compact stars with (superconducting) quark matter cores.
