| * ABSTRACT | |||||||
| In his celebrated book " Mathematical Foundations of Quantum Mechanics", von Neumann has constructed a set of coherent states on a lattice in phase space. This set is complete and has the very attractive feature of having a single state assigned to each unit cell of area h(the Planck constant) of the lattice. A similar set of states was later rediscovered by Dennis Gabor, the father of Holography. Properties of the von Neumann-Gabor set are discussed in the framework of Quantum Mechanics and Signal Processing. |
