* ABSTRACT | |||||||
We review how potential energy terms are generated in 4D and 3D when compactifying string theories and M-theory on certain six-manifold with warp factors. Supersymmetry relates some of them to superpotentials when the moduli space of the six manifold is well understood. We show how this is done for type IIB on warped Calabi-Yau 3-fold and M on warped Calabi-Yau 4-fold. We close with comments on the Heterotic case. |
