* ABSTRACT | |||||||
The search for the ultimate elements and the fundamental laws of the Universe in the 20th century established General Relativity as a theory of gravity and the Standard Model of particle physics based on quantum field theory. However, we are still confronting unsolved puzzles such as the presence of dark matter and dark energy, the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the Universe, and a quantum theory of gravity. The on-going LHC experiments may reveal a clue to some of these puzzles. In this talk, an overview of the current status and the future prospect of particle physics will be provided focusing on the question of matter genesis in the Universe. |
