| * ABSTRACT | |||||||
| This is the first part of a three part series of lectures presenting an introductory Masters level course on Statistical Mechanics. Each part will consist of about 6 Lectures. The first part introduces the classical ensembles of Gibbs with applications to the ideal gas. Later parts will cover lattice spin models, scaling and universality in critical phenomena, mean-field theory, renormalization group, random walks and percolation. | |||||||
