* ABSTRACT
The stabilization of emulsions is an important issue in industry, where it controls the func- tionality and shelf-life of many products. Alongside traditional surfactants, colloidal particles or nanoparticles have long been used to stabilize emulsion droplets (“Pickering emulsions”). Recently, controllable emulsions from the highly stable to the unstable state (breakup of emulsions) have been investigated by several experiments using paramagnetic particles applying field-gradient field[1], dielectrophoretic force by an electric field gradient[2], and supra-colloidal (400μm) particles under gravity[3]. Although those experiments showed that field-induced breakup is simultaneously a threat to an emulsion’s stability, the dependence of the critical field for breakup on the droplet size is far from understood. In this talk, I will show modelling of particle-stabilized emulsion via hybrid lattice Boltzmann (LB) method. Simulation results will be also presented in cases of particle-stabilized emulsions with/without external field
